Joyce Heinrich, 72, of Oakley, died Thursday, January 4, 2018, at her home. She was born February 28, 1945, in Logan County, KS, to Raymond “Roy” and Floy (Finley) Smith. Joyce worked as a dispatcher for the Oakley Police Department and had also worked as a cook for many different restaurants. On September 2, 1983, she married Terry Heinrich. Joyce was a member of the Oakley Wesleyan church and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. Joyce’s greatest joy was her family. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by friends and family, no matter how short the visit, she cherished it. Joyce was a prayer warrior. If she said she would pray for you, you better believe she would. She will be greatly missed, but her family is comforted by knowing she is no longer in pain and is reunited with those who have gone before her, what a reunion that must be!
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marlene Smith and granddaughter Cherie Jackson-Huffman.
She is survived by her husband Terry, of Oakley; children Rodney (Tina) Huffman, PD (Micheline) Huffman, Tracey (Wes) Macy, Brad Vopat and Julie Vopat; brother Roy (Carol) Smith Jr; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
