Joy Irene Davis, 97, of Colby, died Saturday, December 21, 2019. She was born September 27, 1922, in Meade, KS, to Asa and Goldie (Keltner) Ford. Joy graduated from Meade High School. She married Henry Clay Davis on September 14, 1942, in Amarillo, TX. Joy had worked at the Thomas County Bank for several years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Joy loved to dance, visit with people and play bridge. She was a member of numerous bridge clubs. She also enjoyed taking care of the flower beds at the Country Club for many years with her husband Clay.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clay; step granddaughter Stacy Taylor; great grandson Elijah Lampe; 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Judy) Davis, Todd, NC, Diana (Glenn) Schiffner, Colby, KS and Bette (Marvin) Albers, Oakley; brother Don (Bea) Ford, Hubel, TX; 6 grandsons; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019, at the Colby United Methodist Church, with burial in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.
