Joseph M. Parker, 59, of Colby, died Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Prairie Senior Living Complex, Colby. He was born July 1, 1958, in Riverside, CA, to Merle and Leona (Walt) Parker. Joe graduated from Oakley High School and then attended the Vo-Tech in Goodland for Electrical Technology. Joe married Judy Weber on August 3, 1985, in Grainfield, KS. He enjoyed watching NHRA drag racing, MOPAR muscle cars, building model cars and tinkering in his garage. Joe had recently retired, after 34 years, from the Kansas Department of Transportation, where he especially enjoyed plowing snow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Bill and Inace Parker and Joe and Lugard Walt.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Rachel Parker, Travis (Kristin) Parker and Ryan (Samantha) Parker; grandson, Carson Parker; siblings, Jeny Stevens and Tim (Janet) Parker and step-mother, Sandi Parker.
Visitation is 4-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
