Johnny Dean Daniels, 85, of Oakley, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the Logan County Manor, in Oakley. He was born August 10, 1931, in Logan County, KS, to John and Mable (Samuelson) Daniels. Johnny married Hazel Rhea on November 13, 1948 and to this union four children were born. Johnny and Hazel ran the Palace Theater for 24 years. He also owned and operated Daniels Plumbing and Construction. Johnny served on the Oakley City Council from 1985-1995 and on the Logan County Hospital Board from 2000-2008. He also enjoyed helping many people through the Oakley AA group.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; wife Hazel; grandson Justin Daniels; brothers, Oren and Gerald and sisters, Lola Baker and Viola Starr.
He is survived by his children, Roger Daniels, Henderson, NV, Kenneth Daniels, Oakley, Katie Harnish, Oakley and Carol (Steve) Boyd, Oakley; 7 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley.
