John Manning Rogers, 75, of Atwood, died Tuesday the 28th of January, 2020 at Swedish Medical Center, in Englewood Colorado. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on the 4th of September, 1944 to Olis and Gladys Rogers. John lived a full life, from serving our country in Vietnam, driving and erecting oil derricks all around the Midwest, to gardening, reading and knitting at home with his wife Judy, their beloved cats Paddy, Percy, Jack and pup Abby. He was a committed husband, father, grandfather and friend who continued to work and help his community until his untimely passing Tuesday morning.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patricia DiMaggio, and Cheryl Riggs.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Rogers, of Atwood; children, Devin (Anita) Rogers, of Colorado Springs, CO and Brian (Jodi) Rogers, of Commerce City, CO; his step children, Bryon (Annie) Miller, of Laramie, WY, Rob (Brandee) Miller, of Katy, TX and Jamie (Dave) Russell, of Pasco, WA; 15 grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Brenner and Dave (Lu) Rogers; 2 great grand children and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services and military honors will be held Saturday the 1st of February, 2020, 10:00 a.m. at the Chardon Cemetery, outside Atwood. A celebration of John’s life will follow with family and friends at the First Christian Church, in Atwood.
