Send Flowers John F. Cooper July 13, 1948 - July 16, 2014 John Francis Cooper, 66 years old, was born on July 13, 1948 to Charles and Ethel Cooper. He was born and raised in Colby and was known by many throughout the Northwest Kansas area. John passed away on Wednesday the 16th of July 2014 in a single car accident. John attended Colby Community High School where he played football, basketball, and was a member of the track team. He graduated as a member of the class of 1967. After graduating, he moved to Hays, Kansas and then to California before moving back to Colby. He was married to Cecilia Marie Antholz on November 30, 1974 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Bird City, Kansas. The two had three children. Aaron James was born on January 1, 1976, John Griffin was born on March 9, 1978, and they were joined by Lacee Grace on September 19, 1987. John worked the majority of his life in the convenience store business spending many years as a manager and supervisor for Love's Country Stores and as a manager for Butterfield's Convenience Store in Colby, before later working for Walmart and Village Inn. He had several talents, but his favorite hobby was working in his yard. His passion, though, was his children and grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brother David (64) of Wichita; son Aaron and daughter-in-law Danielle, granddaughters Ariana Marie (2) and Charlotte Elizabeth (6 months) of Cibolo, Texas; son John and daughter-in-law Melissa of Westminster, Colorado, grandchildren Shayla Breanne (14), John William (12), Jenna Renae (10), Trace Stevan (7); daughter Lacee, grandaughter Sophie Grace (3) of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
