Jerry Lee Thomas, 76, of Colby, died Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Hays Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1944, in Wichita, KS, to Leslie and Alma (Froese) Thomas. Jerry graduated from Medford High School in Medford, OK and then spent 2 years in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. After his service, he moved to Colby, KS, where he worked in the plumbing industry for over 40 years, first at Surmeier Plumbing and later, on his own. Jerry married Mariana L. Kogl-Green on December 5, 1984, in Atwood. In his spare time Jerry enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Clifford and Harvey and sister Lawanda Horning.
He’s survived by his wife, Mariana, of Colby; children Tiffany Thomas (Dexter Herl), of Grainfield; step-children, Bernie (Dawn) Green, of Largo, FL, Jim Green, of Clearwater, FL, Lisa (Kent) Kilpatrick, of McCook, NE, Greg (Angie) Green, of Atwood and Les (Tesa) Green, of Box Elder, SD; sister, Linda (Lorion) Wallace, of Burden, KS; grandchildren, Brooklyn Thomas, Erika Lundy, Rachael Duncan, James Green, Drew Green, Amanda Green, Cedric Green, Whitney Frewen, Keshia Walden and Mallory Green and great-grandchildren, Jalen Nelson, Kinley Green, Khloe Green, Kaden Green and Braylee Frewen.
A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby.
