Jeanette Kaythrine (Holeman) Applegate, 75, passed away on August 17, 2024, in Colby, KS. She was born on March 16, 1949, in Dodge City, KS. Jeanette was a cherished member of her community and a beacon of honesty and care for all who knew her. Throughout her life, Jeanette found joy in crocheting, fishing, and spending quality time with her family. Her hobbies reflected her nurturing spirit and love for life’s simple pleasures.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mary Lou (Betty) Holeman; brother Charles Holeman; sister Jody Konda and a nephew.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis E. Applegate; daughter DeLana K. Applegate; son, Daniel E. Applegate and his wife Raina; siblings, Phyllis (Dennis) Farenbruch, Sue (Ron) Canaday and Robert (Maria) Holeman; nine grandchildren, two great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Elly May. Jeanette’s kind soul and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Beulah Cemetery, Colby, KS. lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Nebraska Boston Terrier/French Bulldog Rescue, York Adopt-A-Pet or other organizations that reflect her love for animals and can be sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
