James Schroeder

James Henry Schroeder, 91, of Grinnell, died Sunday, July 19, 2020, at the Logan County Hospital, Oakley. He was born March 21, 1929, in Washington, MO, to Everet and Louise (Schwarz) Schroeder. He attended Angelus Grade School and Grinnell High School. James married Bunny Wessel on August 2, 1949. James and Bunny lived on a farm near Angelus and moved to Grinnell after he retired. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and tinkering. James was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Bruce in 1964; sisters, Doris Campen and Betty Ann Kruse and brother Kenny Schroeder.

He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Bunny; children, Melvin (Caroline), Lester, Michelle (Keith) Murphy and Lisa (Jim) Schilling; siblings, Ray Schroeder, Don Schroeder, Carol Maurath and Ethel Ziegler; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
