James “Jim” Anthony Muehlenkamp, 63, of Oakley, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021. He was born July 31, in Denver, CO, to Bernard and Sandra (Speckman) Muehlenkamp. Jim graduated from Oberlin High School in 1977. After graduating he started working for Koch Pipeline Company, in Wichita, KS. Jim returned to Oberlin, KS, then lived in Cheyenne Wells, CO, before settling in Oakley, KS. For 22 years, Jim was a US Postal Service Contractor. On May 3, 1997, Jim married Beverly Cornwell, in Burlington, CO. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on vehicles and playing with his granddaughters. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Oakley VFW Auxiliary.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Troy Fox.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Derek (Kim) Muehlenkamp and Christina (Adam) Palmer; stepsons, Ryan Cornwell and Joshua Cornwell; granddaughters, Alexis Muehlenkamp, Olivia Palmer, Arielle Palmer and Acelynn Muehlenkamp and sisters, Bernadette (Brent) Novotny and Theresa Fox.
Visitation is from 4-5:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Funeral Mass is at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley, with burial in the church cemetery.
