James Merica

James Bernard Merica passed away June 13, 2012 at the age of 91 in Colby, Kansas. He was born on February 5, 1921 to Homer and Pansy (Watts) Merica in Quinter, KS. He married Loraine D. Cook on August 22, 1942 and they celebrated 60 years of marriage together, before Loraine’s passing in 2003. He served in the Army and was a Veteran of World War II and a Recipient of the Bronze Star.
Survivors include a son Rick Merica; a grandson Derek Merica; a great grandson Malikiah Kunse; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be Saturday June 30, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Winona, KS. Baalmann Mortuary, Colby is handling arrangements.
