James Hecker

August 13, 1938 — October 22, 2013

James Jerome Hecker, 75, of Oakley, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the comfort of his own home. He was born August 13, 1938 in Gove County, Kansas to Martin and Frances (Ziegler) Hecker. He married Noralee Schwebach November 11, 1961. Jim was a farmer and served in the United States Navy from 1956-1960. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and a former member of the Oakley CO-OP Board, and South Randal Township board.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Noralee Hecker: parents and sister, Darlene Kitendaugh.

He is survived by his sons Kirk Hecker, Daniel (Jennifer) Hecker, Christopher (Karla) Hecker; daughters Lorie (Joseph) Denning, Sara (Paul) VanEaton,; brothers Alvin (Bette) Hecker, Virgil Hecker, Gilbert (Caron) Hecker; sister Valere Devers; Fourteen Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-5pm on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley.
