James Colgan

Jim Colgan, 74, of Atwood, passed away April 18, 2015 in Oberlin, KS. He was born the first child of Leonard and Susie Colgan, October 6, 1940, in Hays, KS. He joined the Air Force after High School and served his country from 1960-1964. He married Janice Persell on June 3, 1961 in Orleans, NE. They had two sons, Tim and Jim Jr. The family moved to Atwood, KS in 1967. Jim was employed by Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas until he retired in 1993. Jim enjoyed hunting, shooting targets, was an avid reader and loved his Siamese cats.

He is survived by his wife Janice; sons, Tim Colgan and wife Lori, of Atwood and Jim Colgan Jr, of Colby, KS; grandchildren, Lyndsi, Sarah, Cameron, Harrison, Bryce and Dalton and siblings John Colgan and Cathy Bush of Oklahoma.

Cremation was chosen. A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m., April, 23 2015 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Connie Woolridge officiating. The family will receive visitors at United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
