Ingeborg “Inga” Wiens Inga Wiens, 80, of Oakley, KS passed away on August 10, 2014 in Germany, while on vacation visiting her family. She was born June 18, 1934. She was one of five children, three girls and two boys. On June 25, 1960 she married Walter Wiens, while he was serving overseas in the US Army. She was a military wife for 20 years. During that time, she raised a family, went to beauty school and became a beautician and worked various other jobs as a store clerk, cashier and as a volunteer at the thrift shop. She was an active member of a VFW Auxiliary in Oakley and a member of the Oakley United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband Walter, infant daughter Brenda, her parents, and a sister Trudy. Surviving family includes her son Joachim Rabsch and wife Rita of Germany, her daughter Inge Hall of Joplin, MO., her son Mike Wiens and wife Jackie of Colby, KS., her son Tom Wiens and wife Tammy of Eugene, OR., her Daughter Bev and husband Louis of Salina, KS.; her sister Helga of Germany, her brother Hans of Germany, brother Klaus of South Africa, along with 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 11:00am at the Oakley United Methodist Church with Pastor Cheryl Johnson presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Northwest Kansas Foundation for Hope and may be left at the services or sent to Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel, 745 S. Country Club, Colby, KS 67701.
