Harold Lefmann, 92, of Colby, died Friday, April 13, 2012. He was born Nov 24, 1919, to Jacob and Jessie (Wade) Lefmann in Douglas County, KS. He graduated from Lawrence High School and received a Bachelors degree from University of Kansas and Masters degree from the University of Northern Colorado. He married Phyllis (Acheson) Lefmann on March 6, 1969. Harold was a German and History teacher at Colby High School for 23 years and was one of the first teachers at Colby Community College. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and a V.F.W.
Preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis and a sister, Hazel Price.
Survived by his daughter, Julia Lefmann (Colby); two brothers, Delmar Lefmann (New Jersey) and Delbert Lefmann (Virginia).
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Colby United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to Colby Community College Scholarship Fund in Care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
