Gregory Kent Ellis, 61, of Colby, died Monday, November 14, 2022, at Citizens Medical Center, Colby. He was born April 3, 1961, in Oakley, KS, to Larry and Donna (Wagy) Ellis. In his younger years Greg worked for the Rainbow Drive-In before joining the City of Colby. In 1991, he began working at the City’s municipal power plant as an operator. Greg worked his way up to power plant superintendent and served in this position until his passing. In his free time, Greg enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, being around horses, riding dirt bikes and working on vehicles. He especially loved time spent with his children and family.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents and son Dalton Ellis.
He is survived by his wife Tonya Yonkey, of the home; son Paden (Morgan) Ellis, of Hoxie, KS; brother Mark Ellis; brothers-in-law, Gail Yonkey and Kale Yonkey; sister-in-law Linda Davisson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
