Glovine Tuesday, November 24, 2015 4:03 AM Glovine Alice (Doughty) Golemboski went to be with Jesus at Citizens Medical Center on November 23, 2015. Glovine was born in a sod house a few miles south of Bethune, Colorado on February 24, 1937. Her father helped deliver her as the doctor was held up. She grew up on a farm for her early years and moved to Burlington after the sale of the homestead. She attended Burlington High School.   Glovine married Lewis Kirby in 1953, and had 3 children. She held many jobs over the years, but her favorite thing was being a 4-H leader. She shared her knowledge of sewing and baking with the kids. She achieved certification as a librarian and went to work in the Goodland School system.   Glovine remarried in 1974 to Frank Golemboski, Sr. They had a daughter. She discovered the joy of genealogy research after reading the book Roots by Alex Haley. She enjoyed being a 4-H leader again after moving to Colby, Kansas.   One of her proudest moments was graduating on Mother's day with her GED in 1984. She loved working with the kids on Wednesday nights at the Colby Wesleyan church for many years. Glovine could make friends wherever she went. In later years she worked at Pioneer Memorial library through a senior work program. She passed her love of reading on to her children and grandchildren. Glovine used her many talents to share her love of Jesus Christ with many people through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Thomas County being a 20+ year member.   Glovine is preceded in death by her son and daughter Billy J. and Katherine Kirby, stepson Joe Golemboski, both ex-husbands, her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
