Gilberto Retamoza-Guzman, 57, of Oakley, died Thursday, July 12, 2018, at the Logan County Hospital, in Oakley. He was born May 29, 1961, in La Batea, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Salvador Retamoza-Ayon and Evangelina Guzman-Martinez. Gilberto lived in Homestead, FL, where he worked in the orange fields. He then picked fruit, in Bakersfield, CA before moving to Garden City, KS to work in a meat packing plant. Gilberto started trucking and eventually came to own and operate his truck. His prized possessions were his Dodge Ram pick-up and his corvette. He was a great dad and a people person.
Gilberto was preceded in death by his father and brother Raul.
He is survived by his mother; children, Gilberto Retamoza and Ana Donida Cabanas-Retamoza and siblings, Zenaida, Estella, Soledad, Rosa, Margarita, Hugo, Carlos, Imauro and Leticia.
Funeral Mass is 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. For condolences or information visit www.baalmannmortuary.com
