Georgina “Jean” Aschenbrenner, 90, of Oakley, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Logan County Manor. She was born March 22, 1923 to Ludwig “Louis” and Anna (Leiker) Glassman in Voda, Kansas. She married William J. Aschbrenner November 21, 1944 in Oakley, KS. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served as a Sacristan for 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Altar Society and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a loving farm wife and an excellent seamstress. She volunteered her time and talent at St Joseph Catholic School.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her son John; brothers, Peter, Marvin and Alfred; sisters, Henrietta Weigel, Clara Athman and Mary Ann Cote’; four infant brothers and step-mother Elizabeth. Georgina was the final member of Ludwig Glassman family to pass away.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ann (Harold) Snethen, Goodland, Janet (Terry) Zerr, Oakley and Wilma Doll, Big Spring, Texas; her sons, Thomas (Nancy) Aschenbrenner, Pratt and Kenneth (Rebecca) Aschenbrenner, Oakley; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4- 7 pm on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am on Monday, June 24, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
