Gayle Leslie Dible was born on February 13, 1943, on the family farm in Northwest Sheridan County, Kansas, to Leslie Floyd and Eunice Mildred (Murphy) Dible. Gayle passed away on August 18, 2022, in Sun City, Arizona, at the age of 79.
Gayle graduated from Rexford Consolidated High School in 1961. On June 7, 1964, Gayle and Phyllis Rae Tice were united in marriage at the Rexford Community Church. Two sons, Larry and Gary, were born to this union. Gayle and Phyllis enjoyed many happy years together until she passed away on January 9, 2000.
Gayle served on the Golden Plains School Board, the Thomas County Fair Board, the Farm Bureau Board, Smith Township Board and the Northwest Kansas Assistive Technology Board. He was also a Hunters Safety Instructor and a community and project leader for the Rexford 4-H Club. Gayle worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for over 40 years in addition to being a lifelong farmer.
On September 21, 2002, Gayle married Linda (Foster) Fechner. This enlarged Gayle and Linda’s family to include son Larry and granddaughter Kaitlyn; son Gary and wife Kelley, grandson Andrew and wife Lisa, great-granddaughter Hadlee, granddaughter Kate; son Don; daughter Melinda, granddaughter Taylor and husband Wayne, great-grandson Jax, great-granddaughter Zoe, granddaughter Chloe and husband Christian, great grandsons, Bodie and Steele, and grandsons Teigan, William and Nathaniel.
The Funeral is at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the United Christian Church, Oakley, KS, with burial in the Rexford Cemetery, Rexford, KS.
