Garold D. “Butch” Stockman, 75, of Colby, died Monday, January 17, 2022, at Citizens Medical Center, in Colby. He was born in Dodge City, KS, on June 22, 1946, to Albert and Myrtle Leona (Green) Stockman. Butch graduated from Dodge City High School in 1964 and after graduation joined the United States Army, where he served in Germany as a Tank Commander. After his time in the service, Butch returned to Dodge City, where he married Linda Gerstner on September 20, 1969. There he worked for Stewart Plumbing until 1983, when the family moved to Colby, KS. Butch worked for Western Sprinklers and later Denny’s Auto. Butch loved working with his hands and in his spare time he enjoyed wood working, iron work, working on and rebuilding cars, and racing go-carts.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Leona Stockman.
He is survived by his wife Linda; children, Shawn (Amy) Stockman, Shanann (Damon) Belshe and Andrew (Ashley) Breese; brother Leroy Stockman; sister Carol Gillette; 10 grandchildren, Eryn (Fernando) Martinez, Brynne Stockman, Taylor Stockman; Tavean, Dalton, Bryce and Brent Belshe, Noemi Guiterez and Talon and Trace Breese and great grandchildren, Ayden and Viviana Martinez and Lane Belshe.
