Gara Lynn Zeigler, 69, of Oakley, KS, died Saturday, April 29, 2023. She was born August 15, 1953, to Gerald Zeigler, who tragically died prior to her birth, and Ann (Lindeman) Zeigler. On August 24, 1960, Ann married Mads W. “Bud” Andersen, who raised Gara as his own.
Gara graduated from Oakley High School with the class of 1971. She then moved to Topeka, KS where she worked for UPS. Later she moved to Bakersfield, CA and worked for Mustang Software. She moved back to Oakley, where she got her CNA and CMA licenses, and helped the elderly in the Oakley area.
Gara had a big heart and loved all pets, her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Gerald; mother Ann and father Mads W. “Bud” Andersen.
She is survived by her brother Greg Andersen and wife Mary, of Oakley; brother Kirk of Linnwood, WA; nephew Casey Andersen and wife Brandy, of Oakley; niece Linley Andersen of Severance, CO; great nieces, Bailey and Makenzie Andersen and great nephew Cody Andersen, all of Oakley.
The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 a.m., with a memorial service starting at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Inurnment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Oakley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oakley Senior Center and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
