Frederick Albers

Frederick Joseph Albers, 65, of Rexford, died Sunday, January 12, 2020, at his home. He was born July 7, 1954, in Colby, KS, to Alfred and Anna (Haffner) Albers. Fred attended Selden Schools then graduated from Rexford High School in 1972 and joined the United States Army. He attended boot camp at Ft Leonard Wood, MO and was then stationed at Ft. Bliss, TX. Fred was a proud farmer; he loved the challenge of planting his crops and watching them grow for harvesting. He enjoyed his cattle and selling his calf crop. In 2010 Fred started a hobby on his “park” north of the house and had recently won a conservation award for his windbreak. On January 31, 2016, Fred married Vala Mosier. He enjoyed his morning routine of checking the cattle before going to coffee and the grain elevator. Fred was a devout Catholic and member of Sacred Heart Church, in Colby. He especially loved watching his kids and grandkids grow.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Todd Toll and nephew Bryar Toll.
