Francis Salisbury, 89, of Oakley, was called home Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Logan County Hospital. Francis was born February 4, 1926 in Centralia, KS, the last born child of nine, to Loam and Grace (Moyer) Salisbury. He was a 1944 graduate of Centralia High School. Frank served as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Darlene Uhrich on June 2, 1956. Frank had a love for music, which he shared with his children and grandchildren. He loved playing guitar, organ & harmonica and in his younger years had played in a band. During his retired years he loved golf and you always knew where he was at t-time, 1:00. By far, his favorite was spending time with family and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the VFW. Frank dedicated 29 years to the city of Oakley, working his way to City Administrator.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; his parents; a son, Godfrey Leon; four brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by a son, Ricky (Kim) Salisbury, of New Braunfels, TX; daughter, Deanna Highland (Rod Bencken), of Oakley; ten grandchildren, Audrey (Mark) Oller, Amy Manwarren, Joanna Salisbury, Kacey (Tashia) Highland, Kalie Highland, Logan Salisbury, Wyatt Salisbury, Jocelyn Bencken, Kearstyn Bencken and Brady Bencken; nine great-grandchildren, Aiden Manwarren, Carli Manwarren, Hailey Orender, Ayden Carroll, Layton Oller, Ein Bencken, Jaya Highland, Frankie Howard and Baby Howard.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be 1:30pm, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Burial will follow in the Oakley City Cemetery with Military honors.
