Fannie Chipperfield

Fannie Marie Chipperfield, 90, of Atwood, KS passed into eternity Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Atwood, KS.

Fannie was born November 16, 1922 to Harry and Stella Pettit in Cheyenne Co., Kansas. She spent her youth in Big Timber Community growing up acquainted with the Chipperfield family. Fannie attended Baker School, Bird City High School and Ft. Hays State. She taught eight years in Cheyenne County.

Walter Chipperfield and Fannie Pettit were united in marriage May 8, 1949 in Benkelman, NE. In 1950 they chose to serve the Lord and have been faithful to that choice all their lives. They spent many years on a ranch south of McDonald where they raised their four children. In 1983 they retired and moved to Atwood.

Fannie had an excellent green thumb, enjoying work in her yard. She also stained and finished all of Walter’s woodwork projects.

Preceding Fannie in death were her parents; sisters, Aletha Willis and Edna Hatch; brothers, Wayne and Melvin Pettit.

Surviving Fannie are her husband; daughter Carol (Charles) Campbell, Glenpool, OK; sons, Lee (Dica) Chipperfield, Wahoo, NE, Stanley (Helen) Chipperfield, Gypsum, KS, and Dwight (Judith) Chipperfield, Goodland, KS; brother Floyd Pettit; sister-in-law Yvonna Pettit; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
