Evangeline (Vange) Balik, 80, of McDonald, KS died Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Dunaway Manor in Guymon, OK. She was born on January 5, 1942, in Imperial, NE to Roger and Teresa (O’Brien) Pflum. She graduated from Chase Co. High School in 1960. She attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and graduated with a Physical Education degree in 1964. On October 10, 1964, she married Henry Balik. Throughout her life, Vange worked hard to take care of her husband and kids while also managing the family farm. She enjoyed reading, art, and music.
Vange was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Steven Balik, and her brother, Jim Pflum.
She is survived by her daughter, Dina (Travis) Johnson, of Hooker, OK; her siblings Patricia Barun, Marilyn Rider, Rosemary Hackett, Rita Schroeder and Roger Pflum; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with a rosary to follow at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Atwood.
