Eva Lorraine Keck, 90, passed away March 6, 2015. She was born April 21, 1924 in Kingery Township to William S. Dawes and Dora Peters Dawes. With a kind and loving heart, Eva chose to be a nurse in Colby, Ks. Eva was a RN working at St Thomas Hospital. She was the office nurse for Dr. Jensen. She was the nurse for the Levant nursing home and also volunteered for many years for the Red Cross Blood Mobile. Eva married William Keck on April 14, 1946. Beyond the love of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Eva enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She always had a warm hug and a smile for those who stopped by to visit her. She was proceeded in death by her husband, William; her father, W.S. Dawes; Mother, Dora Peters Dawes; Step Mother, Anna Dawes; Step Father, FB Dawes; Step Brother, Duane Dawes; Brother, Earl Dawes; and Sister, Frances Dawes Orton. Her survivors include three children, Phil (Alana) Keck of Colby, Rita Lewallen of Holyrood, and Rick (Joyce) Keck of Overland Park. She also has fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday March 10, 2015 at the Colby United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Monday March 9, 2015 2pm-8pm at Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Citizens Medical Center or Colby United Methodist Church.
