Eunice Pabst, 89, of Colby, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Prairie Senior Living Complex, Colby. She was born Feb. 13, 1923 to William and Florence (Elliot) Garrett in Levant, KS. She married Hie Pabst on Dec. 28, 1941 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Colby. She enjoyed square dancing with her husband and traveling in their motor home. She was an excellent seamstress and cake decorator, decorating cakes for many special events including her children’s weddings. She was a member of the Golden Buckle Square Dance Club, V.F.W. Post 6882 Women’s Auxiliary, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hie and a son, Richard Pabst.
She is survived by two sons, Darrell (Deanna) Pabst, Colby and David (Linda) Pabst, Colby; six grandchildren; Shawn Pabst, Lenexa, KS, Stacy (Lee) Stremsterfer, Pleasant Plains, IL, Amy (Scott) Borton, Lawrence, KS, Leah Hanson, Wichita, KS, Marie (Brad) Skolout, Levant, KS, Karen Pabst, Colby, KS; and eight great grandchildren; J.W. Pabst, MaKenna Pabst, Colton Stremsterfer, Colbie Stremsterfer, Kimberly Hanson, Tyler Hanson, Samantha Skolout and Tucker Skolout; one sister Jean Snyder, Colby, KS; two sister in-laws, Ferma Garrett and Wilma Pabst both of Colby.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Colby.
