Estelle Margaret Bugbee, 82, of Gem, died February 5, 2015. She was born October 29, 1932 in Gem to Clyde and Breta (Baker) Treat. She graduated from Gem high school then went on to Ottawa University, Ottawa, Ks, for two years to study music and play softball. She married Donald J. Bugbee on August 17, 1952 and they started their family. In addition to being a wonderful mother, grandmother, and homemaker, she worked at the Colby Locker for a time, as well as TG&Y in Colby and also ten years at The Colby Job Service. She was a farm wife all of her married life and also enjoyed being a foster parent to several children over several years after her own children were mostly out of the home. She also directed and sang with the choir at the Gem Baptist Church for many years until it's closing, and then joined the United Methodist Church in Colby and sang in their choir.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents and husband Donald.
She is survived by her children, Pamela (Roy) Robinson of Gem, Steven (Becky Herrman) of Colby, Monica (Charlie) Miller of Gem, Scott (Leslie) of Ulysses, and Karla (Jared) Haggard of Gem; sister Mary Lee Ihle of Golden, CO; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Colby.
