Send Flowers Emma Lou (Hafer) Rogers, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21,2017, in her home in Colby, KS. She was born August 1, 1937 in Goodland, KS to Charley E & Ruby F (Clapp) Hafer. She married Charles L Rogers on August 9, 1955, in Atwood, KS. Emma enjoyed working at Pioneer Memorial Library for many years. She had many hobbies that included fishing, woodworking, cake decorating and spending time with family and friends. Church & volunteering at the Senior Progress Center were also very important to Emma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brother Arlie Hafer; daughter Ruby Brungardt and infant son Jacob Erwin Survivors include; five sons, David and wife, Kay Rogers of Newton, KS; Daniel and wife, Lesley Rogers of Kinsley, KS; Charles and wife, Rhonda Rogers of Oakley, KS; Larry and wife, Marcia Rogers of Oakley, KS; Terry and wife, Brenda Rogers of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Mary and husband, Steven Burleigh of Colby, KS; Carla and husband, Kenneth Dunston, Jr. of Kersey, CO; son-in-law Virgil Brungardt of Colby, KS; sister Anna Teel of Atwood, KS; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday, April 25,2017 at 10:30am, at the Colby Wesleyan Church in Colby, KS with Fred Miller officiating. Interment will be at Atwood Fairview Cemetery in Atwood, KS. Visitation: 2pm - 7pm, Monday at Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel - Colby, KS Memorials; to The Senior Progress Center or The Colby Wesleyan Church. Donations in care of the Funeral Chapel.
