Elva Lois (Garrett) Livingston, 97, Colby, died March 12, 2019 at Citizens Medical Center. Elva was born to Jesse J. and Jessie (Foster) Garrett on September 27, 1921 in Decatur County. As a small child Elva's family moved to a farm North East of Levant. Elva attended country school through her elementary years and graduated from Levant High School.
Elva married Roy Livingston, Jr on June 11, 1937. They made their home in Levant, moving to Colby in 1962. While living in Levant Elva worked part time at the post office and the telephone office. Elva began working at the Thomas County National Bank in 1959 as bookkeeper/teller, retiring in 1984 after 25 years. After retirement she became a volunteer with RSVP.
Elva was a member of the Levant Community Church, later transferring her membership to the First Christian Church in Colby. She was a member of the Christian Church and the VFW Auxiliary up to her death.
Elva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roy, Jr in 1986; her brothers, Arnold Garrett, Marvin (Mary Ruth) Garrett; sisters, Vera (Ray) Logan and Orma (Bill) Clinkenbeard; special friend Jay Gilbert; sister in law Virigina (Mac) Allen and 5 step siblings/in laws.
She is survived by daughters, Carol (Marvin) Lovenstein, of Colby, and Janet (Larry) Stice, of Atwood; grandchildren, Kelli Hankin, Kevin (Eileen) Lovenstein, Keith Lovenstein, Joanna Roman, Jeff McIntyre, Ryan (Renae) Stice and Troy (LeeAnn) Stice; brother in law, Alvin Volk; 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be 2-4 pm Sunday March 17, 2019 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Service Monday March 18, 2019 at 10:30 am at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, with burial in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.
