Elaine L. Leitner, 92, of Colby, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Citizen’s Medical Center, Colby. She was born June 8, 1925, in Herndon, KS, to Claude and Lena (Pummer) Runyan. Elaine graduated from Oberlin High School and on May 23, 1947, married Jerald Leitner. She was a housewife and had worked as a secretary at Sauvage’s Gas Station. Elaine enjoyed cards, dancing, wintering in Texas and especially attending her grandkids sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerald; grandson, Jason Leitner and brothers, Dareld, Claude and Elton Runyan.
Elaine is survived by her children, Jerry, Claudia Bryant and Karla Sullivan; 9 grandchildren, Terri (Andrew) Rice, Lisa Bassett, Jeremy Bryant, Christina (Kirk) Darr, Dustin (Katrina) Sullivan, Haley (Drew) Kingery, KayDee (Brandon) Helus, Andy Leitner and Jerad Sullivan; 15 great grandchildren, Justin & Jameson Rice, Jason & Ethan Bryant, Braden Leitner, Harper & John Clayton Kingery, Talyn, Tage, & Treyor Sullivan, Haydin Litsinberger & Gunner Helus, Taylor, Riley, & Nathan Bassett and 1 great-great grandchild, Bentley Bassett.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Friday June 16, 2017, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Service is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Colby.
