Edwin A. Huelsmann, 94, of Oakley, died Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Citizens Medical Center, in Colby. He was born December 16, 1925, to Henry and Mary Louise (Baalmann) Huelsmann. Ed served in the United States Army during WWII, in the Southern Philippines, Luzon. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze star, WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. Ed met Irene Boor at a dance and on May 3, 1949, they were married at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Angelus. Ed farmed and raised cattle his entire life. He enjoyed training and riding horses.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; wife Irene, daughter Lucille Minard; brothers, Frank, John and Bernard; sisters, Luetta Robben, Floralee Rumback, Mildred Thummel and Lyola Moos.
He is survived by his children Ken (Karen) Huelsman, Lakewood, CO, Tom (Shirleen) Huelsman, Denver, CO, and Hank Huelsman, Denver, CO; siblings, Donna Marie Smith, Donna Lee McGuire, Aloysius Huelsman and Charles Huelsmann; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6-7:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2020, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Angelus; with Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
