Edward Alfred Gagnon, 89, of Atwood, died February 13, 2024. He was born September 12, 1934, in Grainfield, KS to Emery and Jeannette (Boucher) Gagnon. Ed attended Grainfield schools and enjoyed participating in athletics. In 1955 he joined the United States Navy where he served as an Engineman 2nd Class for four years, then was in the Navy Reserve until 1961. On November 1, 1958, Ed married Janice Huber, from Collyer, KS, and to this union two sons were born. Ed worked for Sears in Kansas City for 25 years. Ed eventually moved back to western Kansas, settling in Atwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Jerry; brother, Martin Gagnon; sisters, Florence Bayack and Pauline McBride and sister-in-law Patricia Gagnon.
Ed is survived by his son Larry Gagnon; grandchildren, Naomi, Sarah, Nathanael, Jeremiah and Jonathan; seven great-grandchildren, sister Jeanine Beamgard; brothers, Don Gagnon and James Gagnon and numerous nieces and nephews.
