Duane Fishel

Duane Fishel, 88, of Colby, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Citizens Medical Center. He was born February 11, 1935, in Bemidji, MN to Chester and Catherine Fishel. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force 1954-1962 and obtained his GED while in the service. He married Pauline Edna Dean of Hill City, KS on December 20, 1958. They had three children and he worked as an HVAC specialist making duct work. They settled in Colby, KS in 1990.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister MaryAnn; brothers Victor and Mike, and daughters, Carla and Terri.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline, of Colby; son Darren (Gina) Fishel, of Salina, KS; grandchildren Jason Centner of Texas, Hannah (Brett) Bandy of Colby, Alexis Nelson of Salina, KS and Dillon Fishel of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren Nathaniel, Zoey, and Teddy Bandy; and siblings Gloria, Tim, Sybil, Jenny, Joy, and Ronnie.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. A graveside service will take place at a later date. For information or condolences visit baalmannmortuary.com
