Donna Mae Wagy Ellis Shull July 28, 1938 – May 29, 2017             Donna Mae Wagy Ellis Shull, 78, of Colby, KS, passed May 29, 2017 at Colby Health and Rehab, Colby, KS.           Donna was born on July 28,1938 to Clarence Leslie and Ruby May (Kistler) Wagy.  Donna and her three older sisters Maxine, Darline, and Velma were raised by their parents on a farm north of Page City, KS.  As a young girl Donna attended the first eight grades from 1944 to 1952 at Page City.  Donna then went on to attend the Page City High School beginning in 1952 and graduated in 1956.  Donna was very proud that she had attended the Page City Schools and of the education that she received there.  At that time the Page City School sent more students to college per enrollment numbers than any school in Kansas.  Donna's school colors were black and orange and her school song tune was that of the United States Army song, “Caissons Go Rolling Along”.  Within one year of Donna's graduation (1957) her Page City High School closed its doors.             In 1958, Donna married Larry Jay Ellis son of Jacob Loyd Ellis and Elizabeth Margaret Aust Ellis.  Larry and Donna and moved to  Atwood KS, where Larry was the proprietor of a service station.  To this union two children were born.  Mark Lynn Ellis, born July 6, 1959 and Gregory Kent Ellis, born April 3,1961.  Larry was a devoted husband and father.  Larry preceded Donna in death on January 24,1962 at the age of 23 years, 4 months and 25 days.            Following Larry's death Donna continued to raise her boys, attended Fort Hays Kansas State College, and graduated with a Teaching Certificate on Monday May 27, 1963.  Following her graduation, Donna began her teaching career at the beginning of the 1963/64 school year at the Colby Ks Elementary school as a second grade teacher.                      Donna married Glenn Arthur Shull of Colby, KS., son of Clarence Seymour Cecil (Cy) Shull and Sylvia Samantha Rogers Shull.  Glenn and Donna were married in Denver, Colorado on July 28,1968.   Donna continued to teach her new 2nd grade class at the Colby Elementary School through out her entire teaching career.  Donna enjoyed teaching each new 2nd grade class until she resigned during the spring of 1977 totaling  13 years of teaching in Colby.            Together Donna, Glenn, Mark and Greg ran the Rainbow Drive In and Shull Liquor Store in Colby KS until closing them both due to Glenn's health issues.  Donna also enjoyed reading, collecting recipes, and spending time with her grandchildren.  In later years Donna and Glenn lived in both Hays KS and Ellis KS where they both worked at the Hays Walmart as Door Greeters. Glenn preceded Donna in death on October 9, 2003.  Following Glenn's passing, Donna moved back to Colby KS, because she wanted to be closer to her two grand daughters and sisters.  At that time, Donna transferred to the Colby Walmart where she continued to work as a Door Greeter.  Following a long battle with cancer, Donna ended her Walmart  career after more than 15 years of Service.           Donna was preceded in death by her parents', both spouse's:  Larry Ellis and Glenn Shull, her sister Martha Darline (Wagy) Stephens and spouse Joe S. Stephens Monument KS, her sister Maxine M. (Wagy) Berry and spouse Wes Berry, Page City KS, and her brother-in law Norman Boyd Monument KS.           Donna was survived by her son Mark Ellis and wife Annette Ellis of Ellis KS, and by her son Greg Ellis and Tonya Yonkey of Colby KS; Five grandchildren:  Margaret Mae  Ellis, Colby KS,  Matthew M. Ellis and spouse Athena, Eagle River Alaska, Macy M.A. Ellis, Atwood, KS, Paden G. Ellis, Hoxie KS, and Dalton M. Ellis, Hoxie KS. Two step grandchildren:  Darin T. Myers and wife Kelly, Hays KS, and Krista L. Fabricius, Ellis KS; Five great-grandchildren Layla and Toby Lundgren, Colby KS;  April, and Savannah Ellis, Eagle River Alaska, and Harper Vap Atwood KS;   Five step great-grandchildren:  Jordin, Jace, and Jentry Myers, Hays KS, and Trippton Michael Anderson, and Lillian Mae Schmidt of Ellis KS. Donna was also survived by one sister Velma Boyd, Monument, KS and many nieces and nephews.            Visitation will be held on Thursday June 1, 2017 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, followed by a Flower Reading at the Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel, 745 S. Country Club Dr.
