Donald George Vohs, 82, of Colby, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Logan County Hospital, in Oakley. He was born December 26, 1933, in Rawlins County, KS to Harry and Geraldine (Calnon) Vohs. Don married Rozanne Carl on January 17, 1953 and later married Elaine (Lovenstein) Hurtt on August 20, 2011, in Colby, KS. Don served two years in the United States Army, and then ran Don’s Body Shop for over 40 years. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed woodworking, Kansas Basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rozanne; son Rex and brothers, Jack and Paul.
He is survived by his wife Elaine, of Colby; children, Carla (John) Cranston and Kelly (Mark) Miller; step-children, Ken Hurtt and Korry (Ed) Woolard; brother, James ‘Bernard’ (Donna) Vohs; sister, Marian Smith; grandchildren; Jake Cranston, Jodi(Michael) Hamilton, Jared (Kayla) Cranston and Jordon (Shawna) Cranston, and Tyson Miller, Abby Miller and Trey Miller; step-grandchildren, Travis & Tim Covey; great grandchildren, Zaydin and Lennon Cranston and Mick and Reno Hamilton and step great grandson Duskin Covey.
Cremation was chosen. A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby. Burial will be at a later date in Beulah Cemetery.
