Diana Dale Sabatka was born on August 18th 1943 and died Wednesday, December 11th 2019 at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, KS after her long fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. Diana (Dani) is a Kansas native born in Colby and raised in Brewster. Diana was the daughter of Dale and Vivian Kauffman and has two siblings; Debi Page and Byron Kauffman.
Dani met her husband and the love of her life, Craig Sabatka while living in McDonald, KS while owning and running the Copper Penny. They married on April 8th 1989 and settled down on a small farm northwest of Atwood.
Outside of being a business owner, Dani enjoyed the farm life and filled her days with baking, sewing and crafts and was an amazing painter. But most of all, she loved spending time with grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Craig Sabatka, sister Debi Page, brother Byron Kauffman, daughters Clarissa Kopriva, Tiffany Palmer, son Bradly Sack, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Beardsley, KS, with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place in the church cemetery.
