Derald D. Brown, 86, of Colby, died Monday, December 19, 2016, at Citizens Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1930, in Levant, KS, to Carl H. and Isabella (Tubbs) Brown. On May 12, 1950, he married Mary “Gala” McGinley.
Derald worked for the City of Colby for over 30 years and worked in the water department. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Moose Lodge. In his spare time he enjoyed watching football, spending time with family and in his younger years, fishing.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law Tab Stupka.
Derald is survived by his wife Gala, of Colby; children, Bill (Moereen) Brown, of Weskan, Bob (Lisa) Brown, of Wichita, Judy (Gordon) Gilbert, of Colby and Janice (Tom) Hanavan, of Colby; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one brother, Gene (Cathy) Brown, of Wichita.
