Dennis Ryan

Dennis P. Ryan, 79, from Colby, died Saturday, May 12, 2012, surrounded by many family members. Dennis was born to Thomas and Clara Bremenkamp Ryan. Dennis graduated high school from the Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City, CO. He was a lifetime farmer, member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4th degree Knight of Columbus, VFW and United States Army.
Dennis married Frances Albers and to this union was born 9 children. Dennis and Frances shared almost 55 years of married life together.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas, Joseph, Ronald and Rodney; his sister, Mary Margaret Caruso; and a granddaughter, Alexandria Leavitt.
Dennis is survived by his wife; children, Angie (Jack) Myers, Alan (Sherri) Ryan, Kevin (Elda) Ryan, Cynthia (Frank) DeRee, Monique (Thomas) Leavitt, Maureen (Thomas) Bruggeman, Paula (Butch) Burris, Phillip (Alaina) Ryan, and Sharon Ryan; 25 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren; sisters, Judy Sears, Ethel Ortiz, Zita Bates, and Katie Steavenson; brother, David Ryan and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 16th from 4-8 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, KS.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday May 17 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Colby, KS.
