Deloris Reeh, 79, of Atwood passed away peacefully at Citizens Medical Center in Colby on April 4, 2016 after a short illness. Deloris and her twin brother, Daniel were born to Frank and Mary (Schwartz) Reeh on August 1, 1936 on the family farm in Rawlins County.
Deloris, along with her five brothers and one sister, lived a childhood filled with family, work, play and a strong Catholic faith. Deloris attended grade school at the Forest Hill No 99 School in Beardsley, Kansas and graduated from McDonald Rural High School in McDonald, Kansas in 1955.
After graduation, Deloris moved to Colby to work in the Dietary Department at St. Thomas Hospital and lived across the street in a boarding house owned by a lady that Deloris called Grandma Duden. In 1966, Deloris came back to Atwood to work in the Dietary Department at Rawlins County Hospital. She worked there for nineteen years, before retiring in 1985. Deloris moved to Colby in 2014 and made Colby Health and Rehab her new home.
Deloris was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Atwood, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Irene Withington, Harold Withington (brother-in-law), five brothers, Joseph Reeh, Daniel Reeh, Herman Reeh , Mildred Anna Reeh (sister-in-law), Leonard Reeh, Phyllis Reeh (sister-in-law), Eugene Reeh, Leonard Reeh (nephew) and Michelle Reeh (niece).
Survivors include Merry Reeh (sister-in-law), Virjean Reeh (sister-in-law), seventeen nieces and nephews, many great nieces, nephews and close friends.
Visitation Thursday, April 7 from 4-7p.m. Rosary will be at 7:00 at Baalmann Mortuary in Atwood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, Kansas. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in rural Rawlins County.
