Dean Wolf

Dean Francis Wolf, 74, of Grinnell, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 in Quinter, Kansas. Dean was born on November 22, 1941, in Grinnell, Kansas to Frank Jr. and Clara (Meerian) Wolf. He married Charlotte Thummel on July 27, 1963. They were married for 53 years. Dean was a bull hauler for Mitten Trucking of Oakley, Kansas as owner/operator for almost 30 years. Dean never knew a stranger and was known for being a little ornery, or maybe a lot. When he wasn’t hauling cattle, he loved spending time on his deck joking and telling stories with his family. Sometimes he would even start singing one of his favorites from Johnny Cash or dancing with Charlotte to a polka. No birthday was complete until Dean called to sing Happy Birthday with his own special message.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Kenneth and Roy.

Survivors include his wife of the home, two sons: Michael Wolf, Grinnell; Brian Wolf and wife, Stacy; Oakley; three daughters: Cheryl Schoendaler and husband Steven, Grinnell; Connie Ritter and husband James, Colby; Deenna Gregg and companion Steve Dreiling, Hays; a sister Marjorie Robben, Colby, 13 Grandchildren: Courtney (Dr.Ty) Brunswig, Drew (Jill) Schoendaler, Megan Schoendaler, Cody (Crystal) Wolf, Mathew (Jenna) Wolf, Chelsie Wolf, Nicole (fiancé CJ Pfannenstiel) Ritter, Whitney Ritter, Kylie Ritter, Matea Gregg, Torrie Gregg, Ainsley Wolf and Brogan Wolf and 12 great-grandchildren: Landon Ritter, Dakkota Ottley, Jett, Noah and Shay Wolf, Gavyn and Avalynn Wolf, Emery and Sidney Brunswig, Brynn, Oliver, and Eli Schoendaler.

Visitation will be 5-7:00pm, Monday Aug 1, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish Center, Grinnell with vigil service at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am, Tuesday, Aug 2, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
