David Hurd

David Allen Hurd, of Levant, passed away on August 18, 2023, at the age of 67.

He was born on March 5, 1956, in Kansas City, KS to Bill and Nadia Hurd. At the age of 1, his family moved to California where he and his siblings were raised.

David met Jan in 1980. They were married in 1983 and had two children, Jessica and Taylor. Throughout his life he was passionate about football, his collectibles, and politics.

He was a kid at heart and loved his toys. Although big in statue, once anyone met him, they knew he was a big teddy bear and had a caring heart.

David was preceded in death by his father Billy Hurd, in 2010, and two brothers, Billy Dean and Matthew Dean.

He is survived by his wife Jan Hurd, of Levant; his daughter Jessica (Wade) McCoy, of Levant; son Taylor (Ashley) Hurd, of Garden City; his mother Nadia Hurd, of Ontario, CA; eight grandchildren, Collin, Elle, Adrian, Scarlet, Kelly, Allison, Titus and Collette and siblings, Kenneth (Johanna) Hurd, Tamara (John) Longwill and Pamela (Joe) Arias.

A celebration of life will take place from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Gathering Place, 745 S. Country Club Dr., Colby. For information or condolences visit baalmannmortuary.com
