Danny Black

Danny Black, 64, of Gem, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Citizens Medical Center, Colby. He was born August 2, 1951, to Harold Lee and Carol Christine (Oster) Black, in Denver, CO. He married Cindy Black on March 17, 1995 in Bird City.


Danny was a life time truck driver, where he went over three million miles without an accident. He hauled for the Department of Energy, Carlsbad, NM. He belonged to the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association. In his spare time, Danny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and he loved watching the Denver Broncos.


He is preceded in death by his parents.


Danny is survived by his wife of Gem, children, Logan and Bowen Black, both of Gem, Katie (Zach) Golemboski of Colby, Kasey (Chris) May, Kelley (Andy) May, Karlie (Nate Minnick) Black all of Oberlin, Daniel (Shannon) Black of St. Joseph, MO, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be Saturday, February 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Colby. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery, Colby. Memorials are suggested to Danny Black Memorial Fund in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701. Online condolences: www.baalmannmortuary.com
