Cynthia E. Dixson, 71, of Atwood, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS. She was born November 8, 1951, in Atwood, KS, to J.L. and Audrey (Marnix) Dixson. She received a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Panhandle State University in Oklahoma. Cynthia was the Rawlins County Extension Agent for many years. She took great pride in instilling a love for rural life and agriculture in the next generation during her time as an agriculture agent.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nancy.

Cynthia is survived by her brother Robert (Ann) Dixson; sister Lorretta (Tony) Haffner; brother-in-law Gene Ryan, nieces and nephews, Stacy (Travis) Barnes, Ashley (Clint) Petty, Tanner (Jill) Dixson, Chandler Ryan and Cameron Ryan. Great nieces and nephews Amelia and Truman Barnes, Jett, Judd, Saige, Sloan, and Jaide Petty, Wyatt and Lane Dixson, and Brynleigh Ryan.

A graveside service will be held at Stevens Chapel Cemetery in SW Rawlins County, Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Rawlins County Historical Society for the restoration of Stevens Chapel, 308 State St., Atwood KS 67730.
