For 40 years Crystal Lynn Sharp brought joy and sweetness into our lives. She was born January 1 st 1978 to Norman L. Sharp and Jean A. Jacobs at St. Thomas Hospital in Colby. She passed away at the age of 40 on January 8 th at Hays Medical Center with family & friends by her side. Crystal was a Colby Kansas girl through & through. She graduated from Colby High School and made Who's who in America High School students. Her passions were crafts, and nature, care for others and working hard. Crystal loved her 3 nieces and her love for others extended beyond her family. She was a lover of children and touched many children and their parents through the many years she owned a daycare and was often referred to as “Mother Goose”. Crystal loved animals and this love began as a small child. Her adventurous personality and love of nature led her to pursing a degree in animal science. During her internship she was able to live in Livingston, Montana, enjoy nature and help injured and sick animals. Crystal graduated from Colby Community College in 2008 with an Associate degree in Applied Science. She worked at Swartz Veterinary Hospital and farmed for L.J. O'Neal. Crystal was to everyone, exactly what they needed, which meant something different to each person she came in contact with. Not only in her life but also in her passing, she touched and i mpressed many. Crystal's passing is truly “a blessing in disguise”, she was an organ donor and her natural body was able to save numerous lives. Crystal was engaged to Keith Rock and for 5 years she was a key player in his son Skyler's fight against kidney disease. A disease he was born with and at 10 years old he was receiving multiple dialysis treatments a week, in kidney failure and in need of a transplant. Crystal and Skyler had such a connection he called her Mom. Crystal, Keith, Skyler and Kat fought this disease as a family. Skylar was able to receive one of Crystal's kidneys in her passing.
