Cleon W. (Albers) Heinrich, passed away Thursday evening, April 6, 2023, at HaysMed, at the age of 96. She was born August 6, 1926, to Theodore and Anna (Beckman) Albers, at the family home north of Angelus, KS. She married John Heinrich on September 21, 1944, in Angelus. Cleon worked as a cook for the Angelus and Grinnell schools for 28 years. For six years she owned and operated the dry cleaners in Grinnell. Cleon was an avid reader, loved playing board games and card games, loved to fish and was lucky at bingo. She and her husband John led wedding marches for friends and family for many years. Cleon was the KC Chiefs #1 fan.
She is survived by her six children, Sharon (Larry) Rumback, Oakley, KS, Murray (Dixie) Heinrich, Fairway, KS, Raecine Boeger, Grinnell, KS, Thomas (Lynn) Heinrich, Grinnell, KS, John (Juanita) Heinrich, Great Bend, KS and Leanne (Philip) Schalles, Hays, KS; 19 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; son-in-law Donald Boeger; infant twin grandsons; brothers, Martin, Edward, Alfred, Gerhart and William and sisters, Helen Rietcheck, Mary Kamphaus, Anna Buss, Christiana Schiltz, Elizabeth Wolf, Eileen Meis and Louella Travis.
Visitation will take place from 5-7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Angelus. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, also at St. Paul’s Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
