Charles Novak

Charles F. Novak, 84, of Oakley, died Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the Logan County Senior Living, Oakley. He was born July 17, 1936, in Gove County, KS, to Otto and Regina (Dickman) Novak. Chuck graduated from Grinnell High School in 1954, then joined the United States Army, serving for 2 years. He was a member of the Grinnell VFW and Grainfield American Legion. Chuck worked on concrete elevators across the country. He also worked on Nick Haffner’s harvest crew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Elwin and Robert Novak and sisters, Mayetta Schulte, Ann Brack and Rita Castor.

He is survived by his siblings, Walter Novak, of Grinnell and Mary Ann Novak, of Coxsackie, NY and son Charles F. McKinney, Stuart, OK.

A private Family Mass will take place at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell, on Tuesday, December 21, 2020, with burial in the church cemetery. For information or condolences visit www.baalmannmortuary.com
