Charles Leonard Miller, 65, of Gem, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at his home. He was born April 27, 1951, in Bridgeport, CT, to Charles and Gertrude (Broas) Miller. He married Monica Bugbee on August 5, 1995, in Gem, KS. Charlie lived most of his life in Connecticut where he worked as a crane mechanic and operator on the docks. He and Monica moved to Kansas in 1992 and established their home in Gem. Charlie was an excellent cook and he loved cooking for family gatherings. He made some great meals at the Pasta Pub too, a bar and grill they owned and ran in Colby for a few years. For the last 10+ years, Charlie was a cook at Twisters Bar & Grill, in Colby. He enjoyed NASCAR, going to the races and was known to be a practical joker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronny & Keith Miller.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Monica; son Jeff (Jennifer) Miller; siblings, Leanore (Frank) Mucciacciaro, Les (Arlene) Miller and Charlotte Christiana; four grandchildren and twenty nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Colby United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Gem Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Children's Hospital in Denver and the Colby United Methodist Church in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS.
