Charles Hammit

Charles Dean Hammit was born on September 23, 1931 in Floydada, TX to Claude and Gertrude Hammit. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 26, 2015, at the age of 84.

On July 17, 1967 he was united in marriage to Bobbie Cathcart in Amarillo, TX. Charlie was a man who positively touched many lives. He had a deep love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gene Hammit, and daughter, Trudi Gail Hammit.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie of Colby, KS; sons Larry Hammit of Hugo, CO and Chad (Tasha) Hammit of Krum, TX; daughters Vicki (Damian) Duran of Arriba, CO, Deena (Scott) Bandy of Colby, KS, Renee’ (Mike) Schmeiser of Colby, KS, and Vikkee Carole Johnson of Ruidoso, NM; brother Larry (Sunny) Hammit of Pittsburgh, PA, as well as sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Memorial celebration will be at 3pm on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Colby Wesleyan Church in Colby, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds may be given to Prairie Senior Living Center, 1625 S.
